OUR COMMITTEE'S MISSION STATEMENT
The Chatters Culture Committee promotes the company’s values, creating a safe environment for authentic expression. Comprising of members from diverse departments, we work with integrity to identify and improve various areas. Our mission includes educating our team, fostering diversity in communities, and implementing initiatives like Diversity, Wellness, Engagement, Employee Recognition, and Volunteering. Ultimately, our Purpose is to Create Positive Energy in the World Through the Power of Hair.

The power of hair is about transforming beauty from “good for me” to “good for everyone.” This power starts with YOU. Dream big for the impact your work can have – on those you serve, and everyone they interact with every day.
Community is built one interaction at a time. Whether it’s our clients, our partners, or our colleagues – we always lean in, we operate with positive intent, and we create real connections by being accountable to each other.
People don’t remember what you do, they remember how you made them feel. That’s why we direct our energy towards making sure everyone leaves feeling better walking out our doors than they did walking in.
The power of hair is not just about expanding the boundaries of beauty, it’s about redefining them altogether. We are never bound by convention and are always inclusive. That goes for how we allow each other to show up each day - fully ourselves, how we work together, how we brainstorm and we problem solve.
When we are at our best, we can help those around us be at their very best too. That’s why growing and learning is at the core of everything we do. Because when we grow together, we can equally spread positive energy and impact those around us.
Services
Safe spaces allow everyone to feel their most beautiful, authentic selves. We’ve collaborated with key partners to help guide our journey towards more inclusive experiences.
We partnered with the Dress Code Project to elevate our salon experiences. Guests now enjoy inclusive salon services with genderless haircuts for every customer. Haircut prices are determined by the length of hair and the amount of time needed to complete the service. Our employees are encouraged to express themselves authentically while representing Chatters.
To further understand the needs of the 2SLGBTQI+ community, we are also proud to partner with Redken and It Gets Better Canada to upskill over 850 Chatters team members in 2023.
Spaces
To ensure our salon spaces are accessible and inclusive, we are working towards elevated, spacious new salon concepts with accessibility in mind.
In addition to upgrading our salons, we launched a more accessible online experience at chatters.ca for enhanced visibility through colour usage and live text features.
Philanthropy
Chatters has partnered with It Gets Better Canada to provide support for members of the 2SLGBTQI+ community.
It Gets Better Canada is a registered charity that envisions a day when no young person in Canada feels marginalized, isolated, excluded or rejected because of their sexual orientation or gender identification.
