When wanderlust hits the allure of travel is hard to ignore. Especially during the coldest months of the year, when spring seems way-too-far away, a vacay in the sun may be especially necessary. So if you’ve decided to quench the calling by booking a holiday, you’re probably already packing your bags in anticipation. As anyone that has ever packed a bag for travel knows, suitcases fill up pretty quick. To keep you in style while you’re away, be sure to tuck these packable must-haves in your travel bag.

Prep

First off, if you are going on an airplane, prep for moisture depletion. The day before departure apply a hydrating hair mask and face mask and drink plenty of water. If you are feeling a little pale, fake a golden glow with a self tanner. This kit from St. Tropez has everything you need to glow up, and is perfectly sized to go on holidays with you, for a faux tan on-the-go.

Before getting on the plane slather on some moisturizing lotion and apply a small amount of Moroccanoil to hair mid length to tip to retain moisture. Keep germs at bay with a hand sanitizer. This hand sanitizer from Kenneth Bernard cleanses and moisturizes leaving skin feeling hydrated. Top with a quick updo styled with a nice, soft scrunchie or hair scarf, to keep hair fuss-free while looking chic.

Pack

Keep in mind that airlines don’t allow liquids over 100ml in carry-ons, and any carry-on liquids must be stored in a proper bag. Check your airline’s allowance before packing for smooth sailing.

I recommend packing products that pull double, or even triple duty, to cut down on the amount of products you need, while still covering all your style needs. Try a 3-in-1 shampoo, conditioner and bodywash like Biosilk 3-in-1 Coconut or American Crew 3-in-1 Tea Tree. I love the size of the Biosilk 3-in-1; the 188ml fits so easily in a suitcase and the scent is like a vacation in a bottle.

Multi-tasking stylers mashup multiple features to go farther than your average product. Pureology’s Style + Protect collection feature styling with the added benefit of protection from heat and UV rays (an extra bonus if your vacation includes fun in the sun! It's like sunscreen for your hair). And oil treatments can deliver instant hydration to hair and cuticles or rough skin in a pinch. Also great for travel, the new compressed hairsprays from Bed Head pack the same amount of hairspray as their larger cans, but are compressed in a smaller package to save packing space. This one fights frizz in high humidity making it your perfect travel companion!

Multitasking doesn't stop there. Try a hair tool collection that covers all your styling needs. New from Dannyco, Croc travel tools include a mini-sized flat iron, curling iron, hairdryer and thermal brush. These powerful little tools are all dual-voltage and use the same power cord, so you just need to bring one cable instead of four!
